Yirra Yaakin [Yir-raarh Yaarh-kin] is based in the heart of the Noongar [Noong-aarh] Nation - a distinct Aboriginal Cultural group from the South West of Western Australia. Noongar Laws governing the operations of Yirra Yaakin are ones of inclusion, using protocols and procedures to allow participation of Aboriginal Peoples to produce productions, events and activities appreciated by all.

Recently Yirra Yaakin Noongar Theatre was awarded the "Dorothy Crawford Award For Outstanding Contribution to the profession at the 34th Annual AWGIE awards.
