Three mad chefs animate two Cookie Cutters, a host of familiar kitchen utensils and food in an anarchic puppet extravaganza of epic proportions. The Men of Steel trilogy fuses cooking, physical theatre and intricate object puppetry in a humorous examination of the consumptive society in which we live. The three adventures include a creation myth that fuses Adam and Eve with Evolution, a romantic outing to the movies and, finally, a cataclysmic visit to the woods. Cartoon violence, physical comedy and mess (lots and lots of mess) ensues!

The show is suitable for all ages and has no language.

Men of Steel
Men of Steel are a shining example of the burgeoning puppetry scene in Australia. Created by three of Melbournes finest puppeteers: Sam Routledge, Tamara Rewse and Hamish Fletcher, and sound designers Jared Lewis and Aaron Cuthbert, Men of Steel have delighted festival audiences throughout Australia and Internationally. Successful Local seasons include: Melbourne International Comedy Festival; Big Laugh Out, Sydney;  and the inaugural International Puppet Carnival at Federation Square, Melbourne.

In 2007 they made their international debut, playing dates in Edinburgh, Dublin, Hong Kong, China  and a month long Christmas season at the SOHO Theatre in London.

Men of Steel have been nominated for and won numerous awards including The Festival Directors Award at the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Green Room Award for Most Outstanding Ensemble of Performers.
