Life Coach is an automated counselling service consisting of a light installation and intimate sound delivery system dispensing personal advice and affirmation for the time deprived city worker.

When a person has become an enterprise, their life becomes their capital, their task is to invest that capital as well as possible. Life Coach is the professional adviser we all need.

Installed in a pedestrian environment the art work is a private sound and light show for its audience of one, simultaneously the installation creates a spectacle of the spectator by visually isolating him or her from the passing mass. The spectator’s interface with the installation becomes an impromptu theatrical solo.

Created by Hugh Covill, Rhian Hinkley and Bruce Gladwin Life Coach was first exhibited as a part of The City of Melbourne 2006 Laneway commissions.
