The 2008 Adelaide Fringe will be the launching pad for the Australian premiere season of Seven - an emotionally charged and thought-provoking new dance theatre production from Leigh Warren & Dancers.

Seven tells the story of seven people who share an unfortunate trait - they are all in love with the illusion of love. In its unique interpretation of the 'Snow White' fairy tale - this unpredictable production questions every aspect of its storyline.

Was Snow White actually a spoilt brat? Did she perhaps suffer from a father-fixation complex? Why do step-mothers get such bad press and - most importantly - do all princes fall in love at first sight?

After presenting several large-scale collaborations in 2007, Seven is an opportunity to bring the company's entire focus back to dance - its primary art form.

The technically virtuosic movement language employed in this production is the result of workshopping the narrative components of the fairy tale itself. Physical theatre techniques are used to uncover an emotionally expressive movement language. Seven allows the movement to speak for itself - producing both the surprise and accessibility of a screenplay.

Set designer Dan Potra has joined the team to help artistic director/choreographer Leigh Warren realise his vision for this production. He designs for theatre, opera, dance, film, TV and large scale events including segments of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. Dan's ingeniously inventive design will see a space where anything can happen.

To be presented at Adelaide's historic Royalty Theatre in the heart of the city, Seven shines the spotlight on this award-winning company's immensely talented ensemble of local dancers: Lisa Griffiths, Deon Hastie, Kynan Hughes, Alisdair Macindoe, Gala Moody, Jo Roads and Adam Synnott.
