"...there's no way of measuring the delight on the faces of the pedestrians, the residents, the random revellers ... who looked skyward and found themselves thrust into a thrilling fantasy, a virtual world of pure theatre."
The Irish Times

The winner of 2 Helpmann Awards in 2006 for Best Visual for Theatre Production and Best Choreography, On the Case is an outdoor spectacular 'wall' show that uses a unique track based aerial traverse system. This technology allows performers to exploit the entire width and height of a building as they run, dance, fly, cartwheel and spin off and along the wall, transforming it into a dramatic vertical stage.

The extraordinary physical and aerial movement in this piece is integrated with an atmospheric cartoon landscape, created by Dave Jones, which is projected onto the vast wall under the performers' feet.

On the Case is a game for four players. A woman falls from the sky. Did she jump or was she pushed? The chase is on to snatch back what is rightfully hers, her stolen heart. Her objective? To find the case, retrieve her heart and win the game! But at what price? This show features breath-taking imagery and daring, acrobatic movement.

The original soundtrack was composed by Carl Polke and was also nominated for a Helpmann Award for Best Original Score. Carl Polke has composed extensively for theatre and circus including Circus Monoxide, Legs on the Wall, the Flying Fruit Fly Circus and Circus Oz.

Legs on the Wall
Legs on the Wall was established in 1984 by a collection of artists working in new forms of contemporary circus. In 1992 the company was formally incorporated as an association and by 2001 the company moved away from an ensemble led collective, adopting a management model with Debra Batton as Artistic Director.

The company has been instrumental in the development of the physical theatre genre in Australia which draws on circus, acrobatics and dance for its skill base. The genre finds it's visual language through physical movement and a preference for spectacular imagery and relies on theatre practice for its narrative and conceptual structures. The company has two distinct strands of work; large-scale outdoor spectaculars, and more intimate experiences for audiences in conventional theatres. The company has toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe, the UK and South America.

Legs on the Wall have a string of successful shows under its belt, from the classic show All of Me which firmly placed Legs on the Wall on the international map, through to hits such as Under the Influence, Homeland, Flying Blind, Eora Crossing and most recently On the Case, a "visual spectacle" which thrilled spectators of all ages at the 2007 Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival. A new in-theatre show called Bubble is being created for its premiere season at the Sydney Opera House in July 2008.
