FORUM 1: Contemporary Indigenous Performance on the Global Stage
Australian Indigenous artists and companies are developing new artistic languages, which merge traditional influences with contemporary practice and speak of Indigenous history, mythology and contemporary society. This forum will explore the ideas behind some new Indigenous works and provide valuable insight into the creation of contemporary Indigenous performance.

FORUM 4: Arts centres: from hall for hire to curated visions
There's a sea change in the arts ecosystem whereby arts centres are now curating, producing and presenting individual performances and seasons of work, work that is often from abroad and had in the past only been seen at Festival time. Overseas, the creation of a programmatic context for this work has been to use a "Festival" model, albeit within the walls of the arts centre (BITE, Meltdown) and this approach has started to be replicated in Australia (Adelaide Guitar festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival). What does this mean for the arts centres, resident companies, artists, and festivals and what challenges and opportunities does it create?

FORUM 5: The Producers: Alchemists of the Impossible
In Australia, the UK and elsewhere the role of the producer is becoming more widely recognised. Across a range of cultural contexts, the value that a producer can bring to the relationship between artist and audience is at last starting to be championed and supported. Arts organisations, artists, funding bodies, cultural thinkers, politicians and journalists are recognising that certain creative entrepreneurs must be supported if they are to further develop the performing arts ecology. But support is still limited and recognition varied. Many producers working outside the funded infrastructures of buildings and companies continue to struggle to maintain a viable career. And many of those who do work in larger cultural institutions are being stifled by less flexible organisational structures. How can performing arts producers working in a global economy survive? How can producers, both independent and those working in funded organisations, maintain a career? How can we form better networks in Australia and internationally? How do we help continue to raise the profile of producers working across the arts?
This forum is an opportunity for producers to share thinking and experiences and move towards the establishment of better domestic and international networks. The forum will be facilitated by David Micklem who commissioned The Producers: Alchemists of the Impossible. The book is available for purchase or free download at www.the-producers.org

WORKSHOP: Touring - the plans, pitfalls and shortcuts (Europe, the UK and the USA)
A discussion about the diverse range of key issues related to touring performing arts through Europe, the UK and USA.
