National and international arts heavyweights will officially open the event which will showcase 35 Australian performing arts companies to an international audience converging on Adelaide to ‘shop’ for arts productions.
More than 120 leading international performing arts presenters and producers from 18 countries will attend the Australia Council’s 6th Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) in Adelaide this month. Among them will be more than 50 first time visitors, expected to create significant new markets for the Australian performing arts.

productions by 36 Australian performing arts companies and artists will
be on show in Adelaide next February at the Australia Council’s 6th Australian
Performing Arts Market (APAM), the largest performing arts market in the
southern hemisphere.
Next February some
of the worlds leading performing arts presenters and producers will
scout for top quality theatre, dance and music productions at the Australia
Council's 6th Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM). Performers and
companies looking for new touring opportunities are already jostling for
one of the markets 40 coveted Spotlight sessions, featuring 25-minute
excerpts of full-length productions. The Spotlight program, which will
be announced in November, also showcases works-in-progress and full-length
productions in the simultaneous events2004 Adelaide Fringe and Adelaide
Festival of the Arts.
